EDITOR'S LETTER
The holidays are a time for getting together with family and friends, for enjoying our homes in this festive season and for the child in all of us to come out. This is also the time of year for dreaming, and each month we showcase the diversity of homes that we find here in Florida to let your imagination take wing.
This issue, old-world elegance is juxtaposed with midcentury-modern style and retro chic. For many years, Lisa Perry, her husband and two children stayed at The Breakers during their frequent sojourns to Palm Beach, but when she fell in love with the architecture of the Palm Beach Towers, there was no turning back. It was simpatico to her artistic spirit, which developed in her youth in Chicago and has continued to flourish in each of her homes and in her clothing line. As she admits, "I had really good taste as a kid." And as you can see from our story "Mod for Palm Beach," she has great taste today, too.
Burt Minkoff had a psychic connection with the ranch-style house he now calls home. As he explains, "When you buy a house, it's all about the bones and the objectives of the people who will live there." His objective was to have a home that incorporated a casual indoor-outdoor Florida lifestyle with his contemporary art collection.
