EDITOR'S LETTER
Our homes are a place where we find peace and tranquility. It is also where we surround ourselves with the things we love. The homeowners we feature in this issue all have passions that are on full view in their homes.
Art collector and businessman Jack Wolgin's West Palm Beach condo is a colorful reflection of his enduring commitment to making the world a beautiful place through the numerous artistic expressions he has commissioned and/or collected—and continues to collect. It was Wolgin, after all, who commissioned Claes Oldenberg's iconic steel sculpture, Clothespin, across from Philadelphia's city hall. When the husband and wife design team of architects Madlen (Mady) and Marc Neal Simon were asked to create a second home for their Philadelphia client, the mandate was to showcase part of the art collection Wolgin was bringing to Florida and make it fit seamlessly into its tropical locale. If you drop by to visit this interesting man, you are greeted by an intensity of color in the art, the furnishings and in his personal stories about the artists he knows.
Another homeowner who lives his passion is art collector and art dealer Arij Gasiunasen. In his words, "The lines between my personal life and my professional life are so blurred. The only constant is that I am always surrounded by exquisite art." His French Normandy villa is an extension of the man: It is glorious, welcoming and larger than life. As another season comes to an end, we are already looking forward to the next, as plans are underway for PBC&G's expansion into additional markets in South Florida. We look forward to bringing you even more of the magazine you have come to look forward to, and we always love hearing from you. Till next time...
